The teaching staff of the Melbourne 4 Feldenkrais Professional Training Program consist of outstanding accredited trainers and assistant trainers. Julie Peck is the Educational Director.
Julie Peck, Arlyn Zones, Stephanie Spink*, Alan Questel, Deborah Bowes, Larry Goldfarb, Paul Newton, and Susan Hillier* will be the trainers in the program. Assistant trainers from across Australia will be part of the teaching staff. Working as a team, the staff teach Awareness Through Movement, give Functional Integration lessons and demonstrations, lead discussions, and direct small groups.
The international training accreditation guidelines require that we maintain a student to teacher ratio of 20-to-1 for the first two years and of 15-to-1 for the final two years. To insure that you receive individual attention, we are committed to meeting, or exceeding, this requirement in every segment. Glenice Hall and Jenni Evans as the administrators will co-ordinate onsite activities and liaise with the trainees.
Experienced Feldenkrais practitioners from Australia and elsewhere will also be part of the educational faculty. They will serve as tutor practitioners to provide support for the training and give FI lessons. To insure continuity and congruence, Julie Peck will be present at least 50% of the time and Assistant Trainer Zoran Kovich, throughout the training.

Julie has a background in Physiotherapy and has maintained a busy private practice in Perth since graduating from the Sydney1 FPTP in 1990. She became an Assistant Trainer in 1995 and Australia's first Trainer in 2003.
Julie finds her private practice and sharing her experiences with colleagues, clients and students are the main source of her continual learning. She has found the journey of being both a Feldenkrais practitioner and trainer has enhanced and refined her abilities in innumerable ways, particularly in stimulating her ability to direct her own discoveries and learning. She is committed to furthering the understanding and practice of the Feldenkrais Method in Australia and to have fun while doing it!
Arlyn Zones, CFT, MA (Theatre Arts), San Francisco, USA
Arlyn began studying the Feldenkrais Method in 1977 and graduated from the 1983 Amherst Training. She has maintained an active private practice since then, working with infants, children and adults. She has also taught in schools, clinics and hospitals, and has led special seminars for physical and occupational therapists on clinical applications of the Feldenkrais Method for orthopaedic and neurological difficulties. Arlyn became an Assistant Trainer of the Method in 1988 and a Trainer in 1994. She has taught extensively in the US, Europe and Australia in more than 30 training programs. She also teaches advanced seminars for Feldenkrais Practitioners.
Stephanie Spink, B.App.Sc.(Physio), CFT, Melbourne Australia
Stephanie became involved with the Feldenkrais Method in 1982 and graduated from the first Melbourne Feldenkrais Training in 1991. She organised the second Melbourne Feldenkrais Training Program and worked there as the continuity assistant. She has a background in Physiotherapy, and since 1997, has taught functional anatomy workshops and advanced trainings in Australia and New Zealand.. She was certified as an Assistant Trainer in 1998 and has worked in training programs in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Japan. She has run workshops and advanced trainings in the Feldenkrais Method for more than 10 years. She has been an active member of the Australian Training and Accreditation Board since 2002. Endorsed as a Trainer Candidate in 2008, she continues to maintain a Feldenkrais Private Practice in Eltham. She enjoys learning, life and travelling.
Alan S. Questel, CFT, Santa Fe, New Mexico USA
Alan is a graduate of the Amherst Training Program 1983. He became an assistant trainer in the late 1980's and earned his accreditation as a trainer in 1994. He has taught in over 40 programs in the U.S., Australia and Europe. He has presented seminars at various institutions across the US and has developed a body of work for performers utilizing the Feldenkrais Method. His great interests are the embodiment of creativity and the connections that develops between us through the Feldenkrais Method. Alan is known for his clarity, creativity and down to earth style of teaching. He brings a depth of understanding, humour and a gentle human perspective to the learning of the Method. He creates lively conditions for learning.
Deborah Bowes, Physical Therapist, CFT, San Francisco, USA
Deborah has 29 years of experience teaching in private practice, schools, hospitals and clinics. Starting as a Physical Education teacher in 1973, she has always been intrigued by the relationship of learning, movement and self-image. She earned her Physical Therapy degree from Columbia University in 1975, and became a Feldenkrais Practitioner in 1987. Since 1994 Deborah has taught in Feldenkrais training programs in the U.S. and Australia. In 2001 she became a Certified Trainer of the Feldenkrais Method. She is co-founder of the Feldenkrais Center for Movement Education in San Francisco, maintaining an active private practice, teaching adults and children with pain and other conditions.
Lawrence Wm. Goldfarb, CFT, Ph.D., Santa Cruz, USA
Larry received his Masters degree in Cybernetic Systems in 1990 and his Doctorate in Kinesiology, the scientific study of movement in 1995. He graduated from the Amherst Training in 1983, becoming an Assistant Trainer in 1988 and a Trainer in 1994. He conducts trainings throughout Europe, the USA and Australia. Larry is devoted to broadening the application of the Method. He works with a wide range of people including bus drivers, bank tellers, grounds keepers, and stock clerks. Through his teaching and publications, Larry has become known for his ability to articulate "the method" in the Feldenkrais Method. He currently maintains a practice in Santa Cruz, California.
Paul Newton, CFT, Paris France
Paul is a qualified trainer, he's not only known for his pedagogical abilities, but also for his talent to create a very supportive learning situation. He teaches in Australia, Europe and the USA. At the moment, Paul lives in Paris, where he's codirecting with Myriam Pfeffer the Paris Feldenkrais training program. He's also directing the training in Hamm and Bad Windsheim II. Paul grew up in the United States, lived in Munich for 17 years.
Susan Hillier, CFT, Ph.D., Adelaide Australia
Susan graduated from the Melbourne 1 Training program in 1991.She incorporated the Feldenkrais Method into her work with people regaining function after catastrophic injury or illness. More recently she has worked as an academic, teaching and researching in the broad area of neuroscience with a particular interest in motor control and motor learning. for adults and children who have challenging movement behaviours. She still maintains a small private practice to inform and keep current her research and teaching in university, private and Feldenkrais Method training domains.

Jenni Evans, Dip. Com. Eng., NLP Trainer, CFP*
Jenni graduated in 2001 from the 2nd Melbourne Professional Training Program. Her background is in Engineering, management, Neuro Linguistic Programming and business consulting. Jenni has been designing and presenting training to public, corporate and individual clients for some 25 years. She has been active in the International Feldenkrais Federation ( currently President)and the Australian Feldenkrais Guild, serving on the National Council. She was convenor of the 3rd Australian Feldenkrais Conference in 2003.
